This piece carries the weight of a year that had been rough on all of us. The three of us sat together, brushes in hand, conversation drifting toward the turbulence of the world. The palette was limited, the marks heavy with texture. Silence did most of the work. What emerged was less a painting than an exhale — a way of processing without words. When our friend left, he said he found peace in the exercise, and maybe that was the real outcome: stillness in the making.
